This past weekend we hosted Lost In Oz: Stories From Over the Rainbow here at the farm, and we are soooooo grateful and inspired by the transformation that has taken place to the property in preparations for this event. It has opened up the back half of our property to endless possibilities. Where once stood a collection of crumbling buildings awaiting a demolition team, there is now an entire array of artistic displays & creative spaces along a walk-able path for visitors to use, enjoy, and reflect upon…
Lost In Oz
Again, many thanks to Deer Bear Wolf and the entire Transgression team for all the hard work and heart that was put into this production.
We’ve made a lot of strides this year…but the summer storms caused quite a bit of damage, tearing the roof off some of our storage buildings and practically destroying our brand new hoop greenhouse. Our goal has always been to be a force in the community for sustainable, local, organic food, and now we need the help of the community.
We have created a crowd-sourcing campaign to raise funds for repairing the greenhouse and demolishing some of the unstable structures on the property. As little as $20 from just a few hundred people will get us to our goal! You can donate by clicking the widget located at the top of the sidebar or by volunteering to come help us on the farm .
Things are starting to really shape up at the farm!
Tending to sprouts in the greenhouse
The new greenhouse is up and operational (along with this new website!), we’ve just added new strawberry & blackberry plants, and we are now offering CSA’s for the 2016 season!
Our volunteer base is growing, too! We hope you will get involved with the growth of our farm and the community at-large by attending one of our Volunteer Work Days or other events hosted here at the farm. Thanks again to all those who have helped us get this far!
Urban Sprout Farms is a USDA certified organic farm located in the heart of metro Atlanta. In addition to growing nutrient dense food using a bio-dynamic approach, we host a variety of events designed to bring the community together and raise awareness of sustainable food sourcing practices.
